Don't Wait For "Corporate" To Do Your Marketing

Whether you work for a company that has one location or hundreds, YOU are the head of your marketing department at your restaurant. It is up to you to build sales.

Here is a Free, easy idea guaranteed to bring cash to the bottom line.....................Get out of your office. Yeah, you heard me right. How about making sure that you stop by every table, introduce yourself as the manager, proprietor or head chef and really talk to your guests...........make them feel important, learn their names, find out what brings them in.

I have a terrible memory, especially for names. So every time that I learned a guest's name, I would run to the back and write it down on a index card. I would also add a short description and something unique about them. It would go something like this; "John Smith, tall, red hair, pilot for Southwest, loves hockey"The next time I saw John, and thought "what's that guys name?" I would run to the back and rifle through the index cards until I figured it out. How do you think it made John feel when I walked up to his table and said "Hey John did you see the Red Wings game last night?"
